A complete Circuit of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.  Nine days/eight nights.  Round trip from Cancun.  Includes all meals, bilingual guide, air conditioned touring vehicle, entrance fees.
 

Day 1  Valladolid  Arrive Cancun and transfer to hotel in Valladolid.  You should arrive in time to explore this charming village before the orientation dinner at the hotel.

Day 2   Dzitnup, Chichen Itza, Merida   You will visit Dzitnup, an underground wonder of the Yucatan’s natural hydraulic system.  Tour the Mayan legacy of Chichen Itza with its impressive castle, ball court, Temple of the Warriors, sacred cenote and observatory.  Dinner and overnight in the colonial city of Merida.
Day 3   Merida, Uxmal Tour the parks, Spanish missions, and colonial architecture of the glorious city of Merida.  Early afternoon drive to Uxmal where you will enjoy and evening presentation of the Light and Sound Spectacle.           

Day 4  Uxmal, Kabah, Labna, Campeche   Tour Uxmal’s Temple of the Magician, and Quadrangle of the Nuns.  After lunch visit Kabah and Labna on the way to the colorful walled city of Campeche on the Gulf of Mexico.

 

Day 5   Campeche and Edzna   Morning guided tour of Campeche.  The old city within the ancient wall is a pleasure to explore on foot.  The central plaza is bordered on one side by the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, one of the oldest churches in the Yucatan.  The retional museum in Campeche contains remnants of the marauding pirates that besieged the area during the 16th century as well as artifacts of the Maya that preceded the Spanish.  Continue to the archaeological site of Edzna not far from Campeche.
 

Day 6   Calakmul   Morning drive through the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve which contains countless species of birds, butterflies and wild animals.  The prehistoric metropolis of Calakmul was discovered in 1931.  Overnight in a nearby jungle lodge.

Day 7   Chicanna, Becan, Xpujil, Kohunlich  Tour several stunning Rio Bec style sites.   Dinner at hotel in Chetumal.

Day 8   Oxtankah, Tulum, Playa del Carmen  Visit the Citadel at Oxtankah and enjoy the flora and fauna on Quintana Roo on the way to Playa del Carmen.  Farewell dinner at your hotel on the Caribbean Sea.
 

 

 Day 9:   Transfer to Cancun airport for flight home.
